At age 18, I became interested in astrology. A Deacon in my Church said he was an astrologer and he cast my horoscope. My zodiac birth chart showed my interests in astrology, arts, various cultures, creativity, details, business, communications, teaching, technology and spiritual/new age topics. This info helped me understand my comfort with these topics. Years later during my trip to Ghana, West Africa, an astrologer cast my chart. Similarities in charts cast by an U.S. astrologer and an African astrologer were amazing!

Fine Arts

Utilizing my creative traits, I attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, earning a BFA Degree and Psychology minor. Always interested in drawing and painting, I remember as a child, watching my father draw and sketch. I decided to be an artist also. 

Learning to crochet began as a hobby for me. Then I turned that activity progressed into a future business. Eventually I used computers in astrology. Throughout my life, I always loved to be busy with a variety of activities.

Deciding to use my different facets, I incorporated them into a service to share with others. I named it "The Scope" in 1981.

Teaching and Training

My own zodiac chart indicated versatile aptitudes for teaching and technology. After graduation, I taught girls in an agency where girls introduced me to crochet (popular then). Learning crochet began as a hobby for me. So, I crocheted potholders, vests, hats, etc. I turned that hobby into a business.

Next, I taught blind senior adults. When that agency converted to computers, I had a knack for technology, enabling me to help the staff with computers. I also used computers in astrology. I always loved to be busy with a various activities.

As a natural teacher, I decided my purpose. With my Astrology interest, I created horoscopes which were zodiac charts & reports at age 19, long before computers, I cast those horoscopes by hand using an Ephemeris (almanac of daily planets' motions). Next, with mathematical logarithms, I calculated the exact planets' motions!  Typing a person's birth info in a zodiac report of about 25 to 30 pages. Then in 1981, I created  a service called "The Scope" to sell "Horoscopes".

Changing to a computer training career, I provided computer training & computer support. I trained computer users on the main software in banks, business schools, colleges & law firms. I also trained private clients in their homes, offices, churches, etc. 

Then in 1997, I put my service into a website, "The Scope"

Now in my post-retirement phase, I have expanded my services and items I designed and created. I offer more zodiac items, assorted videos and screensavers. Plus, you can sign up for computer training and order crocheted hats! My products are "feel good tools for living" 

Growing up, watching my parents use their lives to give back to their communities and I decided to do the same. "The Scope of Things" is my vehicle to share and for "Helping You Expand Your Scope!" Use my creativity, I create unique products and some free tools. 

The Scope of Things

Have you noticed that life is cyclical with lessons to be learned? As I journey through life with its many lessons, I decided to grow and try not repeat things. When my father, John, left this earth in 1996, his last words were, "We keep repeating the same things, over and over!" His words were jarring and I paid attention to my life! I love sharing many insights via "The Scope of Things".

In the 1990's, on a global level, there was non-stop anxiety and anticipation of the upcoming year 2000. Many articles, books, magazines, shows, news, media, etc. predicted that dire events would befall us after 1999 turned into 2000.

So, in 2000, I transformed to "The Scope 2000". I wanted to remain up-to-date and technologically advance into the next century. Then  naturally, I adapted and integrated my creativity, skills, aptitudes and interests.

After all the speculation, conspiracy theories, there were no major catastrophes when the calendar year hit 2000.

There is so much negative energy, hate, hostility, division currently in the atmosphere in 2025. The intrusive and ever present social media imposes on people's lives. So, many people are experiencing fear, anxiety, depression, mental issues, etc. I like to put out and share pensive, positive, uplifting content for anyone who wants it.

I was inspired to evolve again. Now, I evolved to "The Scope of Living". I have many offerings which I designed to enhance people's living. Plus, for me, the numerology of the new name is more spiritually positive.
